Proton Lekir Concept to go into production in 2 years?

Malaysia Sports Car in next 2 Years!!!

It looks like the Proton Lekir Concept might just become a reality in two years – according to Proton Corporate Planning GM Dr Badrulhisham Mohd Ghazali. He told Bernama reporters at a Proton Carnival in Kota Baharu that Proton plans to produce a two-seater “Lotus-like” sports car in 2 years time. The car will be unveiled in about a year to a year and a half’s time. Read more...

Li Nian S1 aka Everus Concepts

Yusuf Islam aka Cat Steven

Yusuf Islam, formerly known by his stage name Cat Stevens was born in London to a Swedish mother and a Greek father on July 21 1947, Steven Demetre Georgiou became interested in music in his teens, began performing under the name Steve Adams in 1965, and eventually became known to the world as songwriter and singer Cat Stevens before converting to Islam and becoming Yusuf Islam in 1977. At the peak of his musical career in the 1970's, Cat Stevens had eight consecutive gold albums and 10 hit singles in the United Kingdom and 14 in the United States. His most beloved songs include anthems such as "Peace Train," "Moon Shadow," "Morning has Broken," "Father and Son," and "Oh Very Stevens retired from the music world soon after accepting the faith of Islam.

When Stevens nearly drowned in an accident in Malibu in 1975,he reports having pleaded with God to save him. Stevens described the event in a VH1 interview some years later: "I suddenly held myself and I said, 'Oh God! If you save me, I'll work for you.'" The near-death experience intensified his long-held quest for spiritual truth. He had looked into Buddhism "Zen and I Ching, numerology, tarot cards and astrology", but when his brother David gave him a copy of the Qur'an, Stevens began to find peace with himself and began his transition to Islam. He took the name Yusuf Islam in 1978, saying that he "always loved the name Joseph" and was particularly drawn to the story of Joseph in the Qur'an. Following his conversion, Yusuf Islam abandoned his career as a pop star. Song and the use of musical instruments is an area of debate in Muslim jurisprudence, considered harām by some, and this is the primary reason he gave for retreating from the pop spotlight.

He decided to use his accumulated wealth and continuing earnings from his music career on philanthropic and educational causes in the Muslim community of London and elsewhere. In 1981, he founded the Islamia Primary School in Salusbury Road in the north London area of Kilburn; after that, he founded several Muslim secondary schools and devoted his energy to providing an Islamic education to children and to charitable causes.

He founded, and is chairman of, the Small Kindness charity, which initially assisted famine victims in Africa and now supports thousands of orphans and families in the Balkans, Indonesia, and Iraq. He also was chairman of the charity Muslim Aid from 1985 to 1993.
He has been given several awards for his work in promoting peace in the world, including the 2004 Man for Peace award and the 2007 Mediterranean Prize for Peace. He lives with his wife, Fauzia Mubarak Ali, and five children in Brondesbury Park, London, and spends part of each year in Dubai.

Proton: How to spot imitation Proton Genuine Parts.

From Paultan

Proton has sent over a few images on how to differentiate between Proton Genuine Parts and imitation parts, which are often sold at cheaper prices but do not confirm to OEM standards, especially when it comes to safety.
Take a look on the inside – the genuine part is on the right while the fake part is on the left,
you can notice the difference with the filter.

According to Proton Edar CEO Mohamad Shukor Ibrahim, there are two types of acceptable components available for Proton cars in the market. One is of the Proton Genuine Parts variant and the other is called Proton Second Branding Parts. Proton Genuine Parts are components that have been developed by PROTON and are also known as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts. Continue Readings...

Bahar: Renault F1 deal cost one third of what Tony asked

From Paultan

When news broke that Group Lotus was buying into the Renault F1 Team, one of the more popular questions was why couldn’t they just invest in Tony Fernandes’ Team Lotus. Wouldn’t that have solved the issue of a Lotus vs Lotus battle on next year’s Formula 1 grid and in the courts? Group Lotus CEO Dany Bahar shed some light on the matter at a media lunch in London.

Apparently, there were such moves, but the other side made it too difficult, and too costly for Group Lotus. “A question that has come up many times was why did you not find an amicable solution with Tony Fernandes? Well we tried,” he said. Continue reading...

Formula 1 to use 1.6L four-cylinder engines from 2013, ban on team orders lifted for 2011

From Paultan

Yes, that’s right. The FIA’s World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) has approved new regulations which will see 1.6-litre four-cylinder engines replace the current 2.4L V8s from 2013. The goal is to be more eco friendly, as the smaller powerplants are expected to be 35% more frugal, whilst providing the same level of performance. Energy recovery systems and additional energy management will be utilised to ensure this is possible. Continue reading...

Despite having initially been confirmed for the film,[1] and with the film already into principal photography, it was announced thatMegan Fox would not be reprising her role from the previous two films. With Fox's character Mikaela being dropped, Sam was assigned a new love interest, who will be played by English model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Proton Saga Facelift R3 Concept teased at Thai Motor Expo

From Paultan :

At the launch of the facelifted Proton Saga at the 2010 Thailand Motor Expo yesterday, Proton also showed off an R3 kitted variant on the stands. We have no information on this sporty Saga and presume that it’s a styling concept, although there’s nothing too outlandish here to rule out a production version. Show enough interest and perhaps Proton might listen! Continue reading..."

Proton Saga facelift unveiled at Thai Motor Expo 2010

From Paultan :

"We’re here at the Thai Motor Expo 2010 for some pre-KLIMS motorshow action, where Proton has unveiled the 2011 Proton Saga facelift! Here’s an initial list of changes from what we’re able to tell so far:

The entire front end has pretty much changed from the head lamps, grille, bumper, and even the engine hood sheet metal design. The new engine hood now creases in a way that makes the left and right sides of the hood higher. There’s also a very faint spine in the middle of the hood, where in the pre-facelift Saga it was flat.
