Sebelum memulakan topik Nissan Fairlady Z (S30Z), di atas ini adalah thrailer filem yang bertajuk Wangan Midnight: The Movie 2009 iaitu sebuah theatrical filem dari sebuah komik Jepun bertajuk Wangan Midnight street racing dihasilkan oleh Michiharu Kusunoki yang pasti bakal ditayangkan tidak lama lagi di Jepun dan yang tidak pastinya adakah ianya akan ditayangkan di Malaysia seperti filem Initial D tidak lama dahulu yang juga diambil dari komik di mana kereta yang berlainan iaitu Toyota Levin AE86 yang berunsurkan perlumbaan drift manakala Wangan Midnight pula mempertaruhkan Fairlady Z (S30Z) sebagai kereta utamanya.
OK, berbalik semula ke Wangan Midnite sebenarnya tujuan saya keluarkan bahan cerita Wangan Midnight disebabkan pernah beberapa kali terjumpa di laman Mudah.My dan laman forum drift tempatan di mana kereta lagenda dalam Wangan Midnight iaitu Nissan Fairlady Z (S30Z) telah banyak dijual oleh pemilik-pemilik Fairlady lama terbabit. Saya juga menganggarkan bahawa harga untuk Fairlady lama ini bakal melonjak seperti mana Toyota Levin AE86 disebabkan munculnya fanatik-fanatik baru sejurus popularnya Wangan Midnight: The Movie ini. Sebagai maklumat tambahan Fairlady Z ini merupakan "Sports Car" yang juga dikenali sebagai Datsun 240Z, 260Z dan 280Z mengikut sebahagian pasaran.

"The Nissan S30 (sold in Japan as the Nissan Fairlady Z and in other markets as the Datsun 240Z and later as the 260Z and 280Z) was the first generation of Z sporty 2+2 coupes produced by Nissan Motors, Ltd. of Japan from 1969 to 1978. It was designed by a team led by Mr. Yoshihiko Matsuo, the head of Nissan's Sports Car Styling Studio. HLS30 was the designation of the left-hand drive model and HS30 for the right-hand drive model.
The Fairlady Z was introduced in 1969 with the L20A 2.0 litre straight-6 SOHC engine, rear wheel drive, and a stylish coupe body. The engine, based on the Datsun 510's 4-cylinder produced 150 hp (112 kW) and came with a 5-speed manual transmission (U.S. models received the L24 2.4 litre engine and a 4-speed manual). A less common 3-speed automatic transmission was optional and had a "Nissan Full Automatic" badge. A 4-wheel independent suspension consisted of MacPherson struts in front (borrowed from the Datsun Laurel C30) and Chapman struts in back. Front disc brakes and rear drums were standard.
Production began in 1969. The 1970 240Z was introduced to the American market by Yutaka Katayama, president of Nissan Motors USA operations, widely known as Mr. K. The early 1970 model 240Z had a chrome "240" badge on the B-pillar quarter panel. Two vents were included in the rear hatch below the glass molding. In mid-1971 the B-pillar side badges were restyled with the letter Z in white, and the vents were eliminated from the hatch. Design changes for the U.S. model occurred throughout production and are described Design and Manufacturing Changes to the U.S. Spec.
The 240Z and 260Z used twin one-barrel side-draft SU-like carburetors. The carburetors were changed beginning with model year 1973 to comply with emissions regulations, but the earlier carburetors were far superior for performance. Fuel injection (L-Jetronic electronic fuel injection, designed by Bosch) was added for the 280Z in 1975. This was primarily in order to cope with the difficulty faced in getting enough power using carburetors while still meeting US emissions regulations.
Due to its relatively low price compared to other foreign sports cars of the time (Jaguar, BMW, Porsche, etc.), it became popular in the United States and was a major success for the Nissan Motor Corporation, which at the time sold cars in North America under the name Datsun. The 240Z also broadened the image of Japanese car-makers beyond their econobox success. The Z was very successful in racing in the 1970s: Connecticut's Bob Sharp as well as Bob Bondurant (Brock Racing Enterprises-BRE) racing team with John Morton driving a Datsun 510 number 46 were particularly successful. Clearwater Florida (and later Maryland) racer Don Kearney had much success with the Z car between 1970 and 1978. The Z is also credited as a catalyst for the import performance parts industry. To keep Zcar interest alive, Nissan had a 1998 program where they purchased original 240Zs, professionally restored them, and sold them at dealerships for $24,000."

"Wangan Midnight (湾岸ミッドナイト, Wangan Middonaito?) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Michiharu Kusunoki and serialized in Kodansha's Young Magazine since 1992. In 1999, it won the Kodansha Manga Award for general manga.[1]
The series has been adapted into several live action feature films, video games, and an anime television series. The anime began airing in Japan on June 8, 2007 on the anime satellite television network Animax, produced by OB Planning.[2]
The story gets its roots from the actual street racing that occurs on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway, one stretch of which is known as the "Wangan" — literally meaning "bay side" although it is generally used to refer to the freeway — the longest, straightest road in the entire country.[3]. There is also road traffic to contend with, including a fair number of heavy trucks. Because of this, the action is inherently hazardous, and wrecks are common. Blown engines are also a frequent hazard, especially with the extremely high power engines.
One day, Akio Asakura, a high school student in his last year of study, is driving his Fairlady Z (Z31) when he challenges Tatsuya Shima, a doctor, in his black Porsche 911 Turbo (964), nicknamed the "BlackBird". With his friend in the passenger seat and two girls in the back, Akio attempts to win, but is defeated. Determined to become faster, he goes to the junkyard because his mechanic friend tells him he saw a wrecked Fairlady S30 just like Akio wanted. When he sees the damaged midnight blue Fairlady Z (S30) in the junkyard, he remembers seeing this car a few years ago with a nice girl in the passenger seat. Intrigued as to why such a classic Japanese performance vehicle is about to be junked, he convinces the junkyard owner to sell it to him. The junkyard owner was told by the previous owner to scrap the car because it is cursed. He soon finds that the car is unnaturally fast due to a tuned L28 engine, bored and stroked to 3.1 L and fitted with twin turbos. He also finds that the one of the car's previous owners shares his first and last name, and had died in a horrible crash on the Wangan. Every person who takes possession of the Z ends up spinning out of control and crashing, as if the car is rebelling against its driver. This gives the blue Z the nickname "The Devil Z". The manga follows Akio's various encounters with people on the Wangan, though the central plot revolves around his constant battle with the BlackBird for Wangan superiority."
